Our servers are located at The Equinox Data Faclitiy,
offering 100% complete redundancy in power, HVAC, fire
suppression, network connectivity, and security. The
network architecture utilizes the enterprise routing
and switching engines from Cisco 7000 Gigabit series
routers. The network is fully meshed and redundant with
10 tier one backbone providers with at least
1Gbps or greater uplink which includes AboveNet, AT&T,
Broadwing, Global Crossing, Level3, nLayer, Sprint,
Time Warner, UUNET, and Verio.
Should any connection fail, other connections automatically
take over.

| Security |
- 24x7x365 Building Management / Alarm Monitoring
System. Dedicated security guards (separate
from NOC staff) patrol the interior and exterior
of the facility and have to an elaborate closed
circuit camera system. Critical cameras have
zoom, pan and scan functions
|
- There are always at least (2) Guards on site
8AM-5PM daily.
|
- There is always at least (1) Guard on site
24x7.
|
|
- CCTV captures all areas of the IBX facility.
|
|
|
- Security service is bonded
|
- Continuous Video Surveillance via hundreds
of cameras; camera footage recorded and kept
30 days onsite and 90 days offsite
|
- Multiple Biometric hand scanners required
for access and exit sensors
|
- 2 stage, man-trap, security access; before
actually being able to enter the Data Center
|
- Bullet-resistant front door and walls in
lobby, guard station, and shipping and receiving
|
- Controlled keys and access to customer cabinets,
cages, and vaults
|
- Steel Seismic Bracing meets Seismic / Earthquake
codes for Los Angeles area; racks / cabinets
seismically braced and bolted directly to concrete
under floor
|
- No physical keys as all access points are
biometric.
|
| Power |
- Dual redundant power grids
|
- Primary and Redundant Un-interruptible Power
Supplies (UPS’s)
|
- Eleven emergency back-up diesel generators
with 3,000 gallon tanks have enough on-site
diesel fuel to power the facility in the event
of an extended utility outage; local fuel companies
are on contract to provide additional on-site
fuel within two hours of generators starting
|
- UPS batteries support data center load until
automatic transfer to generator is completed;
battery validation system continuously monitors
and provides early detection of UPS battery
conditions
|
- Power is served to the Power Distribution
Units (PDUs) via 4 separate independent UPS
power sources; each PDU has it’s own Automatic
Static Transfer Switch which can switch the
power to the alternate source within 4 milliseconds
|
- Each PDU Power Management Module has 168
– 20 amp power circuits; circuits are
available up to 60 amp 3-phase
|
| Diesel
Generators |
- 10 x 2.0 Megawatt ACTIVE diesel generators
|
- 1 x 2.0 Megawatt PASSIVE diesel generators
|
|
- Each generator has 3000 gallons directly
attached
|
- Each generator has a dedicated fuel polisher
to maintain clean fuel
|
- There are TWO 30,000 gallon fuel tank reserves
to replenish all individual generators
|
| Fire
Suppression |
- Very Early Smoke Detection and Alarm system
comprised of small white ‘air sampling
tubes’ that draw air into chambers where
lasers analyze the air for smoke content; system
activates pre-alarms at the earliest sign of
smoke
|
- Double Interlock Dry-Pipe Pre-Action Fire
Sprinklers are deployed through out the facility;
sprinklers will not operate unless the fuse
on the sprinkler head is melted – and
then only that one sprinkler will activate.
|
- Heat detectors and smoke detectors are located
on the ceilings around the building
|
- Clean-Gas hand-held fire extinguishers are
throughout the building
|
| Air Conditioning |
- Data Center temperature maintained at 70
degrees +/- 2 degrees
|
- Air temperature entering the IDC averages
55 – 62% varying with load conditions
|
- Thermostats are located around the building
on the walls, posts and ceilings
|
- Air conditioning is 100% floor fed; hole
punched floor tiles allows diffusers (vents)
to be added where needed to provide additional
airflow; air conditioners run continuously w/redundant
capacity
|
- 25% of the air conditioning can be lost and
adequate cooling still maintained
|
- 6 x 400 Ton ACTIVE Chillers
|
- 1 x 200 Ton PASSIVE Chiller
|
- 74 x 40-ton chilled water central station
air handling units
|
- Total of 26 of HVAC Vesda System capacity
|
| Environmental |
- Raised floor= 36" with re-enforced tripod
steel beams.
|
- Standard square hole rails for both 19"
& 23" cabinets.
|
- Standard media: fiber 62.5 microns, or CAT5
or CAT6 copper. Single mode is also available.
SC connectors are standard for fiber cross-connects.
|
- Installation readiness: 4-6 weeks for cage
build out. Cross-connects can be delivered inside
48 hours.
|
- All power and cable (fiber/Yellow & copper-coax/Red)
is run separately, nothing customer-ready is
under the tiles.
